Let's talk about Lines
They're very easy to ignore but they're everywhere. They can be implied or overt but never omitted. I'm talking about lines.  They can bend and curl, they can zig and zag sometimes they're bold and sometimes they're shy. But one question remains, why should we care about lines?

What is a line?
An element of art used to define shape, contours, and outlines; also to suggest mass and volume. It may be a continuous mark made on a surface with a pointed tool or implied by the edges of shapes and forms.
The characteristics of lines
What if I told you that lines have families? Not all lines like to hang out together.
Different lines have different characteristics, it's almost like they speak different languages. Let's sharpen our ability to describe different lines so that we can use them in our own work.

So next time you're creating a work of art consider the message you want to
convey and how you can use line as a megaphone to get your message to the masses.
