The Lancet Infectious Diseases Cover Illustration
I’m honoured to have been invited by The Lancet Infectious Diseases to pitch a cover concept for their January 2026 issue. While the full project for a series spanning all 12 issues did not move forward, I found the creative process incredibly rewarding.

My concept centres on four mosquitoes surrounded by a repeating pattern of viral structures, representing the two dominant dengue serotypes from the 2024 São Paulo outbreak. This geometric approach serves as a metaphor for the cyclical nature of the disease, visualising how dengue persists and re-emerges within the same communities.

By blending scientific data with symbolic design, the piece highlights the relentless rhythm of transmission and the ongoing challenge of endemic control.
Thank you.
